Niykee, who has had a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to join Snoop at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee keeps a steady songwriting schedule despite all this. As a producer magnet, Niykee is constantly looking through the many beats that are being sent to her. The majority are a source of new music ideas. After five seconds, I'm able to tell whether a track is good or not. Then I get an idea of a song and begin writing it immediately. When I sit at my front porch, playing guitar, lyrics will appear and usually are completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee has found that her pain in the past provides an endless source of motivation. "Even when I don't write about my life directly the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood are incorporated in my lyrics," she says. My music is formed by this and I am able to feel the deeper meaning underneath every single thing. That's one of the aspects that are most significant to me.
