Firefly is Whedon the next big TV show that is a huge success. It is likely that she left an impression on viewers, as this single episode was the catalyst for her becoming an acclaimed actress. Her character, River Tam, was an intricate character Glau was able to handle with ease. Tam's character, Summer Glau was forced to sit for government exams so that she could be prepared for her role as the perfect assassin. Tam's control over her emotions was weakened as a direct result. Glau's fighting skills were also displayed on Firefly. The training she received as an assassin allowed her the chance to utilize every aspect of her athletic ability. Summer Glau was classically-trained as dancer. She also has training in flamenco and tango but it was a broken toe that put her off dancing. Firefly ran for just one season, however it built a passionate audience. Fans of Whedon's were so enthusiastic that Whedon returned to it 2 years after. Summer Glau however continued to produce high quality. She has appeared on television programs like Cold Case or CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
